Mr. Harrison Colandrea

Hello everyone and welcome to Mr. Colandrea's Science 7 Class!

My name is Harrison Colandrea and I am excited to be your child's 7th grade Science teacher at Marlboro Middle School! I am originally from New Windsor, NY, but have traveled all over learning about science. I have traveled to places such as the Grand Canyon, Acadia National Park, Death Valley National Park, and the state of Idaho to learn about science and the world around us. Additionally, I worked as a geologist in New York City, learning about real-world scientific problems and solutions. I am excited to bring my real-world experience to the classroom to help introduce student's to various scientific topics, in hopes of widening their view and deepening their understanding about the world we live in and guide them toward the careers they would like to pursue.

This is my first year teaching at Marlboro Middle School, however, I worked as a 7th grade leave replacement in 2019 and was a teaching assistant in college from 2013-2016. My specialty and passion is in geology/earth science, but have experience teaching life science. I expect a lot out of my students, but I also encourage have fun along the way!

I am looking forward to working with all of the student's at MMS in any capacity. Whether student's are in my classes, part of a club, or part of a sports team, I aim to have them enjoy what they are doing and learn a lot. I am excited to instill a sense of inquiry and curiosity into my students to make them question the world around them. Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions or concerns!

Let's have a great year!

Harrison Colandrea
