Mr. Peter C. Carofano

The 2020-2021 school year is Mr. Carofano's 16th year as a full time public school teacher.

Mr. Carofano is a 2001 graduate of Marlboro Central High School where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, as a member of the National Honor Society, and lettering in 3 Varsity sports.

After high school, he attended The State University of New York College at Oneonta and graduated with honors in May 2005 with a dual major certification in Biology and Adolescent Education, as well as a minor in Chemistry.

Mr. Carofano attained his Master's degree in Special Education from Mount St. Mary College in December 2008 where he graduated with honors.  He also currently coaches Cross Country and Track & Field at Mount St. Mary College.

Mr. Carofano's teaching career began in 2005 where he taught Biology at Roy C. Ketcham High School and coached JV and Varsity football.

In 2007, he accepted the Biology teaching position at Marlboro Central High School and has worked here ever since, teaching Regents Biology, Honors Biology, College Biology, and for the first time this year, Astronomy.  He is a USA Track & Field certified coach and is also currently the Head Boys Spring Track & Field Coach at Marlboro High School, winning the Section 9 Class C Championship in 2019.  Previous coaching experiences at Marlboro have included Modified Track & Field, JV and Varsity Football, and Varsity Indoor Track & Field, where the boys team won the Section 9 Class B Championship in 2016.

Mr. Carofano currently resides in the Town of Newburgh, NY with his wife, Ashley, and their two children, Elizabeth and Matthew.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, golfing, hiking, skiing, and going to the beach.
